I guess this becomes the first post of the new blog. I’ve resolved to do more food pics this year, so this is a good start.

Loganberry Blintz from Lili Patisserie in Sellwood. Probably the Frenchest food I’ve had outside of France. Fresh, flavorful, and just wonderful. One of the few places where there’s never anything on the menu I don’t want.
Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict w/ potatoes, also from Lili
New Year’s Eve Cassoulet. 2 chicken legs, 1 lamb leg chop, 2 pork sausages, 1 onion, 2 carrots, 1 stalk celery, 2 cups white beans, 1 cup small French lentils. One of the best soups I’ve ever made.
Black-eyed Peas for New Year’s Day. 2 cans blackeyed-peas (dry would be better), 1 1/2 onions, few thin slices of salt pork, duck stock, few cloves garlic, half a bunch of chard, bouquet garni of oregano, rosemary, sage, and thyme
